[About MOTHERHOUES Co.,Ltd.]
MOTHERHOUSE Co., Ltd. is a Tokyo-based Japanese fashion brand founded on the philosophy of "creating a world-class brand from developing countries." Through craftsmanship in bags, jewelry, apparel, and more, it brings the potential of developing nations to customers worldwide. Since its founding in 2006, the company has created fashion items using materials and techniques from six countries: Bangladesh, Nepal, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India, and Myanmar.
Its involvement with blind football began in 2016, when a blind football player spoke at "MOTHERHOUSE College," an event hosted by the company. Since then, MOTHERHOUSE has launched a line of bags, starting with a backpack co-developed through in-depth interviews with visually impaired individuals. Through a portion of the sales from this series, the company provides ongoing support for initiatives that address the challenges of visual impairment, with blind football as a starting point.
